As a graduate of the SAIT Polytechnic Respiratory Therapy Program, and years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering chronic lung disease and sleep disordered breathing, Ben brings real world patient care to the vision of MRG.
Sitting on various Advisory Committees, and committing to regular lectures to various respiratory therapy programs, Ben strives to adapt change to the way the medical community views chronic disease management. His experience gained from leading operations and sitting on the board of four clinical, diagnostic and/or therapeutic companies will facilitate this change.
Rod Rousseau is CEO of Respiratory Homecare Solutions Canada Inc., which has 54 locations across Canada. He is President of Maple Respiratory Group Inc. with international sites throughout Colombia and China, with a total staff compliment of 380 dedicated professionals.
Rod graduated from the NAIT Respiratory Therapy Program in 1987 and subsequently became a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist & Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT & RST). He’s worked in many aspects of Respiratory including sleep lab diagnostics, acute care, community care, Respiratory Therapy instruction (NAIT), managing, consulting, business development, directorship and is a board member of a number of companies.
Rod has remained active in education having attended both Stanford and Atlanta’s schools of Sleep Medicine. He enjoys lecturing in Sleep Diagnostics and Therapeutics and has done so at premier venues such as Associated Professional Sleep Societies, World Congress on Sleep Apnea, American Association of Sleep Technologists, and various venues in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, China and Colombia.

Director of Maple Respiratory Group Inc., and Vice-President of Operations for Respiratory Homecare Solutions Inc.; Mark Schafer, has assisted in the expansion of the two companies both nationally and internationally over the past several years by building and maintaining strong relationships across the healthcare fields.
Mark graduated from NAIT Polytechnic Respiratory Therapy Program and the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Commerce, specializing in Community Health and has since remained very active within several Advisory and Planning Committees in the respiratory field.
Mark has an incredible passion for giving back to the community and is often found leading events that are great fun for the staff, community. He has proudly donated to the make a wish foundation and other local charities.
Eduardo started his international career with the Alberta Ministry of Economic Development & Tourism as the South American trade research consultant. He collaborated with the Canadian federal government and the Alberta private sector in organizing and hosting Latin American and Caribbean government trade delegations in a number of Industries.
Eduardo was the Co-founder of The Americas Group, an international facilitation consulting company which assists Canadian companies and business associations in identifying international trade opportunities and establishing strategic alliances abroad.
Since 2002 and for almost a decade, Eduardo worked in the electronics recycling industry as the Latin American Business Development Director for leading two Canadian companies. He assisted these environmental companies in establishing operations and partnerships in Mexico, Ecuador and Chile.
In 2011 Eduardo became part of the international business development MRG team and was key in the planning and launch of our sleep laboratories in Colombia. As a dynamic, analytical and results-oriented team player who thrives on new challenges, he will continue to manage our relationships with key stake holders in the region.

Laree Fordyce is the President and Technical Director of Sound Sleep Solutions. Laree has been actively participating in sleep medicine for more than 20 years. She has accumulated vast experience after having worked in both pediatric and adult sleep medicine, both in Canada and the United States. She has also worked in multiple capacities including clinical sleep educator, technical director, sleep therapist, electroneuro diagnostic technologist and research coordinator. She currently is the Clinical Director for the Sound Sleep Solutions Technical Training Program. This program has been accredited by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) and taught internationally. Laree has had the privilege of speaking on many topics in North America, Colombia and China. Laree was awarded the AAST Dr. Elliot D. Weitzman Service Award in 2009 and the AAST Mary Carskadon, PhD. Literary Award in 2012 and the AAST Service award in 2015. She is currently a member of the AAST Program committee.
